I’m super excited to bee involved with such a powerful event of women called The Aces Tour on Saturday, April 23 hosted by Erica Mena and created by Carina Glover.
The event is all about positivity and powerful women in media. To be involved visit: http://chiffonevents.com/
To fill you guys in. I recently caught up with Carina the founder of the event. Check out our interview below:
Your huge tour is approaching, how are you feeling?
I feel a combination of excited, anxious, and nervous. This is the first time I’ve seen all the pieces of an event fall together perfectly, it’s another confirmation that I’m supposed to be doing this. I’m beyond excited and anxious for the launch on April 23, but I have this feeling that this tour will become much bigger than I thought it would. While that gets me excited I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me a little nervous as well.
How did you come up with the concept of The Aces Tour?
To be honest it happened on a day that I was feeling defeated. I have my own business, Chiffon Events, and my goal is to plan events exclusively for high profile individuals within the entertainment industry. On this particular day, I realized how far away I was from my goal, despite my consistent hard work and dedication. I felt discouraged even though I knew I was destined to be great and have a successful, prosperous brand.
Then I came across an inspiring video posted by Steve Harvey on Instagram. In this video he speaks about trusting God and the visions he gives you; believing that he’ll give you what you need to be able to live in the vision one day. In that moment I immediately bounced back to the confident go getter I am. Then I thought of all the other women destined to dominate in their careers, working in a competitive industry. I wanted to do something for them, for women like me. That’s when the seed of The Aces Tour was planted.
What is The Aces Tour?
The Aces Tour is an exclusive event catered to women next to dominate in fashion, entertainment, music, and media. This event will be a national tour traveling to five major U.S. cities; Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, Atlanta, and Washington D.C. Each event will feature a celebrity guest speaker, red carpet, media outlets interviewing guests for brand exposure, Aces gift bags, and much more.
TV personality and fashion designer Erica Mena will be the celebrity guest speaker at the Los Angeles launch on April 23.
What was the process like of planning this huge event for women in the industry?
Planning one event is work, but planning an entire tour takes it to another level. I feel so blessed to have an amazing team and to have come across so many brands that believe in this tour and joined forces to contribute. While Chiffon Events is producing the tour, I wouldn’t be able to pull it off without the support of other women who seen the powerful impact of such an event. The Bianca Bee Show, Style Equation Magazine, JayLove’s Sweets, and LoreneJanae were some of the initial brands to contribute to the event in some way.
What will women gain from this tour?
The Aces Tour (Los Angeles) gives women the chance to hear the journey of celebrity guest Erica Mena as she shares her experiences, unforeseen challenges, and priceless advice to guests who aspires to be on such levels of success. Guests will have a once in a lifetime opportunity as they’re able to ask Erica Mena professional questions and seek advice as she participates in a Q/A.
In addition, guests will be able to walk the rep carpet and gain brand exposure as they interview with various media outlets. Due to the exclusivity of the event, only 75 women in the fashion, entertainment, music, and media industries will be in attendance. This allows endless opportunities for networking for future collaborations and projects in an intimate setting.
How would you describe the event in three words?
Celebrating Your Journey
After this tour, what’s next for your brand?
The tour ends in mid-October, which seems so far away right now. Afterwards, Chiffon Events will continue planning events for current clients and begin the planning of The Aces Tour 2017. We’re currently working on securing partnerships with major brands on the West coast to have Chiffon Events become the house event planner for all projects and clients. We’ll be ending 2016 with a bang for sure.
What advice can you give to young women out there about branding and the industry?
I would say you have to know who your audience is. It’s hard to have your brand grow if you’re marketing isn’t specific to your audience.
Also, have faith in your vision and stay committed to it. The harder it gets during your journey the greater your reward for staying the course. Never stop trying to learn more about your industry and excel. It’s not just about experience, how you carry yourself and how you talk to people is just as important. Be that woman about her business, who still has her values, believes in her vision, and knows her worth; don’t get lost in the pursuit of success.
